My
Chopper Project
(5th stage)
Back to my chopper page
Here we go! I took it for a ride Friday, June 10, 2005- about 10
miles. Runs great! When you hit bumps on a hardtail the feeling is
very unique- the whole bike shifts a bit; not scary at all, just different
than a normal bike.

Here's the parts details: Speedo from www.MikesXS.com
- not the smallest but the 2 inch whiteface model with all the idiot
lights. The taillight is the Sparto-Limp Sausage from Mikes. The
bullet-style blinkers (not hooked up yet) came from www.Jirehcycles.com
(a great source for cheap aftermarket parts!). I am missing the amber
ones for the front yet- they were backordered. The seat and springs came
from ebay. The mirrors are Classic Cruiser style from Mike's, and the
headlight is the chrome 7" Halogen from Mike's. I have the
main switch, the starter switch, the headlight bright/dim and the blinker
switch hidden under the tank for the "clean" look.
I need to change the rear sprocket yet and put on a smaller one. I put on a larger one (36) thinking low-end power would be cool. It is, but the vibration above 55 has nothing cool about it. I'm going with a 32 or back to a 34 (stock).
What I need to do yet: I have a set
of stainless brake lines I need to put on; dual lines right from the master
cylinder. I need to add the front blinkers and hook them up.
Finally I need to go over all the wiring and clean it up. Right now I
have a charging issue- I'm pretty sure it will go away once I clean up the
wiring.

...and finally, a picture of me on my chopper- obviously not in my riding
gear!
